Overview
Shift Rate Trends is a LAL Pro feature that gives you a 60-day view of rates from shifts worked through the Locate a Locum platform.
You can adjust the location, radius and days of the week to compare rate patterns across different areas and understand how average hourly rates have changed over time.
This can give you more context when deciding where and when you want to work.
Open Shift Rate Trends
Open the Locate a Locum app.
Tap Pro in the main navigation.
Scroll to the Success heading.
Tap Rate Trends.
Rate Trends will initially load using the home location saved in your profile.
Your home location can be updated under More → Personal Details within the My Profile section.
What Shift Rate Trends shows you
Rate Trends uses data from shifts worked through the Locate a Locum platform within your selected area.
The screen shows:
a chart displaying the average hourly rate of shifts worked;
rate movement across the previous 60 days;
the shift rate range for your selected view;
filters that allow you to compare different locations, distances and day types.
This can help you understand how rates have varied and identify patterns that may be useful when planning which shifts to target.
Filter your Rate Trends results
You can change the location, radius and days of the week to compare different rate patterns.
Location — use the location search box to search for a town, postcode or another location. The field is initially pre-populated using the home location saved in your profile.
Radius — increase or reduce the area included in the Rate Trends data. A wider radius includes shifts worked across a larger area and may change the average hourly rate, rate range and trend shown.
Days of the week — choose All Week, Weekdays only or Weekends only to compare rate patterns across different types of working days.
Once you change a location or filter, the chart updates automatically.
Not enough data
Some locations or filter combinations may not have enough shift data to produce a Rate Trends view.
If this happens, you’ll see:
Not enough data - Try a wider radius or another location.
Try increasing the Radius or searching for a different location.
Using Rate Trends with LAL Pro
Shift Rate Trends is included with LAL Pro and gives you additional context on rates from shifts worked across the Locate a Locum platform.
If you currently use Locate a Locum without LAL Pro, tap Pro in the main navigation to review the available Pro features and start a trial or upgrade where available.
Within the Pro experience, Success includes tools designed to give you more information when planning and choosing shifts, including Rate Trends and Shift Rate Intelligence.
Common questions
Why can’t I access Shift Rate Trends?
Shift Rate Trends is a LAL Pro feature.
If you do not currently have access to LAL Pro, tapping Pro will show the available trial or upgrade options depending on your eligibility.
Why is a location already showing?
Rate Trends initially uses the home location saved in your profile.
You can change the location directly from the Rate Trends screen at any time.
To update your saved home location, go to More → Personal Details under the My Profile heading.
How far back does Rate Trends go?
Rate Trends shows a rolling view of the previous 60 days.
What rates are used in Rate Trends?
The data is based on the average hourly rate of shifts worked through the Locate a Locum platform within the selected area and filters.
Does changing the Radius affect the results?
Yes.
Changing the Radius changes the area used to calculate the Rate Trends data, so the average hourly rate, rate range and trend may also change.
Why does Rate Trends say there isn’t enough data?
There may not be enough shifts worked within your selected location, radius or day filter to generate the trend.Try a wider Radius or another location.
What’s the difference between Shift Rate Trends and Shift Rate Intelligence?
Shift Rate Trends shows broader rate movement across an area over the previous 60 days.
Shift Rate Intelligence compares an individual shift against local rate data to give you additional context when viewing that specific shift.
Both are designed to give LAL Pro users more information when deciding which shifts suit them.
