How to find & apply for shifts in the app

This is a step by step guide, detailing how to search for and apply for shifts via the Locate a Locum app.

Find shifts

  1. Open the Locate a Locum app and tap Search.
    ​

  2. Use quick filters (e.g., Emergencies, Favourites, New Shifts), or
    ​
    ​

  3. Use the search bar to set location and date.

4. Tap Filters to refine by Minimum Rate, Company, Days of week, etc., then tap Search.

Apply for a single shift

From the list

  1. Tap Apply on a shift card.

    ​

  2. In the confirmation modal, tap Apply to submit.
    ​
    ​

From the details screen

3. Tap the shift card to open Shift details.

4. Review info, then tap Apply Now.

Multi-apply at the same location

  • After your first Apply, you’ll see other open dates at that location.

    ​

    • Tick the dates you want → tap Add Dates (or Apply) to submit.

Instant Book vs Apply

  • Book Now = instant booking (no approval).
    ​

  • Availability of Instant Book is set by the employing company and may be restricted.
    ​
    ​

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t see Instant Book? It’s controlled by the employing company and may be restricted. Remove the Instant Book filter to see all shifts.

  • No results? Widen location/dates or clear filters.
    ​

  • Need help? Go to More → Help to contact the Service Desk in-app.
