What are Blocks?
Employers can post two types of Blocks:
Optional Blocks – where locums can apply for selected shifts or all shifts in the block.
Mandatory Blocks – where locums can only for the block in its entirety.
Find Blocks
Open the Locate a Locum app and tap Search.
Tap the Blocks quick filter to show available block bookings.
3. Tap a block card (or the green View button) to open Block details.
Apply to an Optional Block
To apply for all dates: tick Select all → tap Apply for Shifts.
To apply for specific dates: tick the checkboxes beside the dates → tap Apply for Shifts.
Apply to a Mandatory Block
Tap Apply for Block to submit a single application for the whole block.
Additional Information:
Instant Book for blocks may be available at the employing company’s discretion.
Optional Blocks: follows individual shift rules—you can Instant Book selected dates or the entire block.
Mandatory Blocks: you can only Instant Book the entire block.
Troubleshooting
Can’t submit? For Optional Blocks, select at least one date before tapping Apply for Shifts.
