Asda Opticians - Registering and getting paid

This article contains information on registering with Asda and how to get paid after you work your shift.

Please note you will need to take your mandatory compliance documents to an Asda store to get verified before you are able to start working with them. This information is also available in the guide below.

  • Enhanced Police Check

  • Indemnity Insurance

  • Photographic ID

  • Level 2 Safeguarding

  • Right to Work (if applicable)

  • 2 x References from a previous employer or optometrist you've worked with in the last 3 years

When Visiting the Store for Verification

We recommend making a note of what store you visited, what date and who verified your documents. Please send this information to info@locatealocum.com and a member of our team will be in touch.

Conflict of Interest

In order to qualify for locum shifts with Asda, you’ll be required to provide details on any conflict of interest you may have with working with the company and consent to their terms and conditions. To do this, you will need to navigate to the ‘Companies’ tab located on the top left-hand side of the main navigation panel.

Once you select the ‘Companies’ tab the following screen will appear:

Here you will be required to select the green ‘All Companies’ button. Any companies with a company profile will then display:

Once you’ve located the ‘Asda’ company profile, click on the green ‘View Profile’ button.

You will then be taken to the Asda profile page. Here you’ll note the ‘Categories’ heading on the left-hand side of the screen. Navigate the ‘Categories’ displayed & select ‘My Asda’.

Once selected the following will display:

At this stage, you’ll be required to answer relating to any conflict of interests that you may have working as a locum for Asda. If you answer ‘Yes’ you’ll be required to state the reason.

You’ll also be required to confirm if you are currently, or have been employed by Asda in the last 9 months.

Once populated, click on the green ‘Save’ button.

Now that your company agreement has been updated, your interest in registration will be submitted to Asda. To work at Asda you will still require your profile to be approved by the Asda team.

To get the approval you will need to update your ‘Compliance Documents’ within your profile. To do this, click on the downward arrow located next to your name on the top right-hand side of the main navigation panel:

Note: Originals will have to be taken into your local Asda Pharmacy or Opticians store also. Further details on this are below.

Once selected the following options will display:

Here you will select the option ‘View Profile’.

You’ll be required to then navigate to the ‘Compliance Documents’ tab on the screen's left-hand side. The following screen will then appear with the relevant compliance requirements for your profession and country of residence:

Here you'll be able to view the ‘Mandatory’ documents based on your location. You’ll also see which company the document is ‘Required By’ & the ‘Status’ of that document.

In the above screenshot, you’ll note that ‘Right to Work in UK’ is required by Asda, you can upload a photo of your UK Passport at this stage. To add this document, you’ll have to select the ‘+’ icon, once selected the following will display:

Once selected, you’ll be required to populate the ‘Issue Date’ & ‘Expiry Date’ before uploading a copy of the relevant document. Once you’re happy with the information added, select the ‘Save Document’ button.

Now that the ‘Compliance Documents’ have been updated you’ll be required to navigate to the ‘Payment Details’ screen.

Once you have updated your profile accordingly you must take original copies of your documents to a local Asda Opticians store.

Please note that all mandatory documents must be included. i.e. photographic ID, Insurance, DBS and all other requirements shown.

Please call the store and dial extension 201 to speak to the duty manager, to ensure that someone will be available to review your documents when you arrive.

Once reviewed and if accepted, Asda will approve your profile in order for you to apply and book shifts. You will be notified via email when your profile is approved by them. Please be patient it can take up to 4 weeks to be fully approved to work with them.
