Leave Settings — general defaults & bulk add absences

Use this guide to configure Leave Settings for your organisation, including General Settings and Bulk Add Absences.

Before you start

  • Access is permissions-based. If you can’t see Leave Settings, ask a Company Admin.

Open Leave Settings

  1. Click the cog icon (top-right).

  2. Select Leave Settings from the dropdown.


General Settings

Configure organisation-wide defaults, then Save Settings.

  • Leave period start
    Set when your leave “year” begins (click the calendar to choose a date).

  • Allowance defaults

    • Holiday entitlement (hours) — default is 200 (edit as needed).

    • Hours per day — default is 8 (edit as needed).

    • Record holiday & statutory separately? — tick to track statutory leave separately.

    • Record Time In Lieu separately? — tick to track Time In Lieu separately from Holiday & Statutory entitlements.

    • Enable Automatic Accruals — tick to auto-calculate accrued allowances based on hours worked.

    • Enable Accrual Projections — tick to auto-calculate projected allowances based on hours scheduled.

Click Save Settings (green) to apply.


Bulk add absences

Create a single absence entry for many employees at once.

  1. Choose type

On the Bulk Add Absences tab, select the Type from the dropdown → Next (green).

2. Pick date

Select the Date for the absence → Next (green).

3. Review & submit
Check the summary, then click Submit (green).


Tips

  • Align Leave period start with your HR/finance calendar to simplify reporting.


  • Use Bulk Add Absences for organisation-wide holidays (e.g., bank holiday closures) to save time.

Troubleshooting

  • System Could Not Update Settings: Ensure required fields (leave start date, allowance values) are populated.
